John Wayne's Legacy Fights Cancer
Ethan Wayne carries out the legacy of his father, John Wayne in the fight against cancer. John Wayne died of stomach cancer in 1979 and one of his last requests was for his children to use his name and likeness to fight cancer. Ethan Wayne has been spearheading that effort as Chairman of the John Wayne Cancer Foundation (JWCF). JWCF fights cancer with courage, strength and grit. The foundation does this through their four priorities research, education, awareness and support. JWCF seeks new innovations and modalities to fund cancer research and surgical oncology education. Also, its premiere program, Block the Blaze has educated more than 220,000 youth on skin cancer prevention.
