Through leadership on national policies and priorities, legislation, programmes, investment and innovation, governments are in a unique position to drive progress towards a healthier and brighter future for their nation.
We encourage more governments to leverage World Cancer Day in the fight for against cancer. Here are some ideas to mark the Day:
- Organise a press conference or issue a press release to show your government's commitment to a cancer-free world
- Use the Day to launch new cancer control programmes, initiatives, reports etc.
- Take the opportunity to take stock of your government's progress, and provide updates on national cancer data and statistics
- Help raise awareness on social media
