Story

Mahzaib is my 7-year old daughter. She survived Ewing’s sarcoma, a type of cancer of bones/soft tissues. In her case, this meant amputation of one of her legs. We told her that you’ve got a bad leg and we’re going to give you a good one. Thanks to that “good” leg, Mahzaib is able to go to school now and she actively participates in different school competitions.

My daughter's journey represents the huge impact of collaborations in transforming lives. This was made possible because of a partnership between a cancer hospital and a rehabilitation centre. Together, they ensure that after fighting off cancer, patients are not simply alive, but they are able to live life to the full; they become not just “survivors” but “thrivers”!
