In the UK we know that there are inequalities in outcomes when it comes to cancer care.  This is despite having a health service that is free at the point of access.  Health education and awareness is part of a multi-pronged approach to try and address these disparities.

For World Cancer Day 2024 our conference, entitled "Let’s Talk About Black People and Cancer," focuses on closing the gap in understanding and addressing cancer disparities. Our in person event will be held on February 3rd 2024 at Bush house, 30 Aldwych, London which is part of King's College London, Strand campus.

Through a series of interactive lectures we will cover, 'Big Picture Stuff,' including the importance of genetics, reasons for diverse outcomes as well as updates on the screening programs in the UK.  After a refreshment break we move on to 'The Big Five,'  which delves into specific cancers: Breast, Prostate, Gynaecological, Bowel, and blood malignancies. We are pleased to have distinguished speakers who are all leaders in championing awareness in their respective field. The event aims to enhance awareness, discuss disparities, and promote dialogue and we hope to see you there.
