United Healthcare services celebrated World Cancer Day on Sunday by offering free cancer screening and other month-long activities at the premises of United Hospital, MA Rashid Hospital (Jamalpur), and Medix (Dhanmondi).

The screening program is a proactive approach to raise awareness and encourage early detection of cancer.

Mass people are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to get checked and analyze any potential cancer in its early stages.

About one-third of cancers are curable with early detection and proper treatment.

This initiative highlights the commitment of United Healthcare to provide high-quality healthcare and support to the community.

Walk-in participants in the free cancer screening program examined physical symptoms and family history of cancer to determine whether cancer is present or a potential.

L’unité d’appui à l’administration pénitentiaire de la MONUSCO a organisé ce lundi 5 février à la prison urbaine de Beni, une journée de sensibilisation sur la prévention et la lutte contre le cancer de sein et du col de l’utérus.

C’est dans le cadre de la célébration le dimanche 4 février de la journée mondiale de lutte contre le cancer du sein et du col de l’Utérus.

Une cinquantaine de femmes détenues de la prison centrale de Beni ont pris part à cette activité. Les pensionnaires de la maison carcérale de Beni ont aussi bénéficié d’un dépistage volontaire et gratuit de cancer du sein et du col de l’utérus.

Avec plus de 3 000 cancers du col de l’utérus diagnostiqués chaque année en France et plus de 1 100 décès, la question du dépistage est essentielle. On the occasion of World Cancer Day, AP government on Sunday launched a state-wide cancer screening programme from Tirupati on Sunday. Special chief secretary (Medical and Health) Krishna Babu inaugurated the programme at Padmavathi Medical College affiliated to the Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS). He also participated in the Cancer Awareness Walk on the SVIMS premises in which collector Dr. G. Lakshmisha, SVIMS director Ravi Kumar and special officer (Surgical Oncology) Prof. Jayachandra Reddy participated.

Cancer vaccination and screening campaign

Nairobi — The Ministry of Health conducted a cancer vaccination and screening campaign in Kirinyaga ahead of World Cancer Day on Sunday.

The campaign happened during a medical camp in Kirinyaga Raimu primary school in collaboration with the Kirinyaga county government and targeted teenage girls in the age bracket of 10-14 against cervical cancer.

According to the principal Secretary for public health Mary Muthoni, The medical camp also offered screening and counseling services for breast and cervical cancer.

"The vaccination drive was the focal point of the initiative, targeting girls aged 10-14 against cervical cancer, aligning with the ambitious World Health Organization's 90.70.90 goals," she stated on X.

The PS stressed the need to deploy such immediate p[preventive measures, asserting that this will help in disease burden and a health-resilient population.

Multidisciplinary health convoy in the delegations of Sbiba, Jadlian and Sbeitla for rural women 
Under the supervision of the Ministry of Health and within the framework of bringing health services closer to citizens, the Regional Directorate of Health of Kasserine, in partnership with the Association for Cancer Control in Tunisia, organized a multidisciplinary health convoy on Saturday, February 03, 2024 at the local hospital of Sbiba and the Cultural Center of Arts and Crafts in Mount Samama, for the benefit of rural women from the delegations of Sbiba, Sbeitla and Jadalian from the wilaya of Kasserine.
A number of volunteer specialist doctors participated in this convoy.

An awareness program to commemorate the 'World Cancer day 2024' was organized by the Department of Community Medicine, Bhaarath Medical College & Hospital, Chennai for the 8th standard students and teachers at Kendriya Vidyalaya CBSE school, Rajakilpakkam, Chennai.

An awareness program to commemorate the 'World Cancer day 2024' reinforcing the theme 'Close the care gap!' was organized by the Department of Community Medicine, Bhaarath Medical College and Hospital, Chennai. The event was conducted for the 8th standard students and teachers at Kendriya Vidyalaya CBSE school at Rajakilpakkam, Chennai. Health education was given regarding the various causes, signs and symptoms, preventive and control measures for cancers both in males and females through talks, images and posters. A total of 54 students and two teachers benefitted from the program.  Post-session discussion was also done and students queries were also clarified.
