ver 500 students from the 261 public secondary schools in Anambra State, Nigeria, participated in the competition, which started in November 2024. 

This Grand Finale was held on Tuesday, February 4, 2024, at the Igwebuike Grammar School, Awka, Anambra State, Nigeria.

Every year, the OCI Foundation marks World Cancer Day with the “Grand Finale” of its Anambra ArOY Health Campaign Schools Challenge (a.k.a. Anambra AHCSC).

The Anambra AHCSC is a statewide quiz competition that helps promote the Foundation’s Arm Our Youths (ArOY) Anti-cancer Health Campaign.

The AHCSC is set to become a national Nigerian exercise soon, as part of the OCI Foundation’s quest to introduce the ArOY Campaign and anti-cancer teachings into the curriculum of all senior secondary schools in Nigeria.

THE TOP 6: 

1.     The Champion (1st Position): Mr. OKEKE, Daniel Nzube - Community High School, Nawfija, Aguata Zone, Anambra State, Nigeria.

2.     2nd Position: EZE, Esther Chiamaka - St John Bosco Sec School, Unubi, Zone: Nnewi Zone, Anambra State, Nigeria.

3.     3rd Position: ONYEKWELU, Chinenye Jennifer - Community High School , Nawgu, Zone; Awka Zone, Anambra State, Nigeria.

4.     4th Position: EZENWA, Virginia Chinecherem - Women Education Centre, Awkuzu, Ogidi Zone, Anambra State, Nigeria.

5.     5th Position: AKPAKA, Amarachi J - Urban Girls' Sec School , Onitsha - Onitsha Zone, Anambra State, Nigeria.

6.     6th POSITION: Igboanugo Kingsley Nnaemeka - Government Technical College, Umueri, Otuocha Zone, Anambra State, Nigeria.

The six finalists for this 4th Edition emerged from the zonal contests, completed on different dates in November 2024. They were the Nnewi (November 5), Otuocha (November 8), Awka (November 13), Aguata (November 14) Ogidi (November 15) and Onitsha (November 19) zones.
