Participants: Breast Cancer Fighters

Baheya's art therapy sessions provides a safe space for breast cancer fighters to explore the emotional terrain of their journey. Guided by a volunteer skilled art therapist, participants used color, symbols, and creative expression to delve into their feelings before diagnosis, the shock of diagnosis, the challenges of treatment, and the hopes for the future. Through group discussions with the therapist, participants gained deeper insights into their emotional experiences allowing them to process their fears, anxieties, and hopes related to their cancer journey, fostering a sense of emotional release and healing.

Art Therapy sessions help cancer patients to:

  • Connect with their inner selves: Explore their emotions and find strength within.
  • Gain a sense of control: Express their experiences in a creative and empowering way.
  • Find solace and support: Connect with other women who understand their journey.
  • Celebrate their resilience: Acknowledge their strength and courage in the face of adversity.
