On Monday, February 3, 2025, during the Development Planning Meeting for the 2026 Fiscal Year Work Plan of the Kapuas District Government in Kapuas Kuala Subdistrict, the Secretary of the Kapuas District Health Office, Jum'atil Fajar, arrived early. He took the opportunity to ask the Subdistrict Head for permission to conduct a breast cancer early detection counseling session before the meeting began. The request was approved, and a staff member suggested holding the session at Madrasah Aliyah Asasus Salam, located nearby.

After coordinating with the subdistrict and school authorities, permission was granted, and more than 50 female students eagerly participated in the session. The topics covered included breast cancer risk factors, how to perform breast self-examinations (BSE), the 12 warning signs of breast cancer, and the necessary follow-up steps if symptoms were detected.

The counseling session utilized a flip chart provided by the Know Your Lemons Foundation, which visually illustrated the various symptoms of breast cancer. This educational tool helped students easily understand the changes to watch for in their breast health.

This activity aimed to raise awareness of the importance of early breast cancer detection, particularly among young women. It is hoped that the knowledge gained will benefit participants and encourage them to maintain their health proactively.
