Awareness and sensitization:

The Reconciliation and Development Association (RADA) is actively engaged in raising awareness about cancer through sensitization campaigns aimed at educating the community, particularly youths on cancer. RADA held two impactful awareness sessions on the 21st and 26th of January 2025, visiting two secondary schools and educating over 4000 students and teachers about cancer, its types, risk factors, the importance of self-examination and how to perform self-breast/testicular examinations. These sessions were also aimed at promoting and emphasizing on healthy habits like avoiding alcohol, tobacco, and maintaining a balanced diet.

Radio talks:

On the  26th of January the health team had an hour-long radio session where the team educated the public on cancer types, prevention, risk factors, the importance of early detection, and healthy eating habits in the control and prevention of cancer and other NCDs.

The Reconciliation and Development Association (RADA) in Collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health is pleased to announce the organization of a one-day Multistakeholder Dialogue on the theme: Cancer and Unhealthy Diets: The Role of Front-of-Package (FoP) Labeling and Marketing Restrictions in Cancer Prevention. The session will take place at Hotel Lafalaise, Yaoundé. This dialogue seeks to address the growing burden of diet-related cancers in Cameroon by fostering consensus among stakeholders on implementing effective FoP labeling and marketing restrictions for harmful packaged food products on the World Cancer Day 2025. The event aims to promote health by driving policy reforms and public awareness.
