Details

The Big Walk: “Cancer No Be King” is a community awareness walk organized to mark World Cancer Day and to send a clear message that cancer does not rule our lives. The event brings people together to raise public awareness, encourage open conversations about cancer, and promote hope, early action, and support for those affected by the disease.

The theme “Cancer No Be King” (meaning Cancer Isn’t King) reflects a shared refusal to live in fear or silence. It represents strength, resilience, and unity among individuals, families, survivors, caregivers, and advocates who believe that with knowledge, support, and access to care, lives can be saved.

Participants will walk together through designated routes, carrying messages that promote cancer prevention, early detection, and compassion for patients and survivors. The walk also serves as a moment of remembrance for those lost to cancer and a show of solidarity with those currently battling the disease.

Beyond the physical walk, the activity aims to educate the public, reduce stigma, and encourage healthier lifestyles and timely health checks. It creates an open and supportive space where people can learn, share experiences, and stand together as one community.
