Details

As part of our lead-up to World Cancer Day, UICC staff participated in a creative and meaningful activity centred around this year's campaign theme, “United by Unique,” which highlights the power of storytelling. The activity provided an opportunity for staff to share their stories or messages in various forms, including through art.

We hosted an arts and crafts session with the theme Fingerprints, symbolising the uniqueness of every individual – much like each cancer journey.

Staff were encouraged to create:

  1. Written stories or reflections within the shape of a fingerprint, sharing personal thoughts or experiences.
  2. Abstract designs using their fingerprints to create unique artwork.
  3. A collective piece made together by the whole staff.

The session allowed staff to focus on various themes, including:

  • Personal experiences: Sharing their own or their loved ones’ cancer journeys.
  • Professional experiences: Reflecting on what inspires their work in cancer control.
  • General messages: Offering messages of hope, emotions, and reflections.

This activity was a powerful way to unite as a team and share our diverse and unique experiences.
