I am honored to inform you that on the 20th of January, 2025, the National Executive Council (NEC) of the Nigerian Cancer Society, appointed me as the Interim Chairman of the Lagos state Chapter.

To kickstart our journey, we identified with *UICC* (Leading global cancer organization and the umbrella association of all cancer stakeholders in the world) and our activities commenced with:
A. Press Conference
Date: 3rd February 2025
Purpose: To highlight the essence of World Cancer Day and its theme 'UNITED BY UNIQUE' and to officially introduce the NCS Lagos Chapter to the public and media, share our vision, and raise awareness about cancer prevention and advocacy.

B. Cancer Patient Visit
Date: 4th February 2025
Activity: Visit cancer patients at various cancer centers across Lagos to offer support, encouragement, and solidarity.
World Cancer Day 2025, we embarked on a heartfelt visit to cancer patients at two major cancer centers in Lagos to offer support, encouragement, and solidarity. Our mission was simple yet profound—to spread hope, strength, and reassurance to those bravely battling cancer.

Our first stop was the NSIA-LUTH Cancer Center, Idi-Araba, Lagos. Our other stop was the LAGOS STATE UNIVERSITY TEACHING HOSPITAL (LASUTH) Ikeja, Lagos

I shared words of hope drawn from my personal experience. I encouraged them to hold on to faith, remain strong in spirit, and believe in the power of resilience. My message emphasized that cancer is not the end but can be the beginning of a story filled with courage, strength, and survival. By the end of my speech, they filled the room with applause—a heartfelt response that reflected the emotional connection they had formed in those few precious moments. It was  truly an emotional experience, one that reminded us all of the strength that lies within the human spirit (#UnitedByUnique).

C. An awareness walk and free health check was done by the Atinuke cancer Foundation for the locals of Ipaja, Lagos.
