World Cancer Day 2025 Walk, Run & Cycle

On Sunday, 9th February 2025, The Brunei Cancer Centre (TBCC) of Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) hosted an inspiring Walk, Run & Cycle event at Taman Haji Sir Muda Omar 'Ali Saifuddien. The event was graced by the Guest of Honour, Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Mohd Isham Bin Hj Jaafar, Minister of Health in his capacity as Chairman of the Executive Board of JPMC. Also in attendance were Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Permanent Secretary, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Board of Directors of JPMC, senior management, staffs, corporate guests, campaign sponsors and partners, cancer survivors and the public. 

In his welcoming remarks, Dr Hj Muhd Syafiq Bin Abdullah, Director of TBCC emphasised TBCC's commitment to exceptional cancer care and its role as member of Union for International Cancer Control. He reminded us, "every cancer patient has their own unique needs and stories - stories of sorrow, pain, healing, and resilience. It is essential we approach cancer care with empathy, fairness, and personalised treatment."

The day featured a warm-up session, thematic booth, and a competitive 10 km run, followed by prize presentations and a lucky draw. In spite of the weather, the community - patients, caregivers, and healthcare professionals - stood united in solidarity.
