You Matter, Stay Healthy: Lung Cancer and Palliative Care Awareness Talk

The Society for Cancer Advocacy and Awareness Kuching (SCAN), in collaboration with the Sarawak Society for the Deaf, Kuching Lifecare Society, and the National Kidney Foundation Malaysia (NKF), is organizing a health awareness event in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.

Main Event: Awareness Talk on Lung Cancer and Palliative Care

Join us for an informative session on lung cancer and palliative care, featuring expert speakers from Sarawak General Hospital:

• Dr. Yusra Hadi, Clinical Oncologist (special interest in lung, breast, and sarcoma cancers)
• Dr. Sharon Choo Yoke Ling, Head of the Palliative Care Unit

This session will cover early detection, treatment options, and the role of palliative care in enhancing quality of life for patients and their families.

NKF LIFE CHECK Mobile Health Screening

Time: 10:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Venue: Sarawak Society for the Deaf

A free health screening service will be available, including:

• Blood pressure check
• Urine test
• Blood glucose test
• Body Mass Index (BMI) and waist circumference measurement
• Counseling

A cholesterol test is available for a fee of RM 5 per person.

Screening is open to the public, but individuals under 18 and pregnant women are advised not to participate. Participants are advised to avoid caffeine, tobacco, alcohol, and sweets two hours before screening. No fasting is required.
