In May 2021, having experienced some bloating and back pain beginning mid-March of the same year (and with no symptoms before then), I was diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer that had spread to my liver and lungs. With a six month course of chemo, I was given 2 years to live. I am 56.

I closed my business of 20 years and grieved for the loss of my job and the impact cancer had on my friends and family. Also, for the first time ever, I listened to what my body was telling me.

If I do have a short time left, I intend to use it to help someone else avoid this awful disease being diagnosed too late to do anything about it, as I was.

Having said that, I also hope to make it to 60 years old!
