Person with a lived experience of cancer

Abdul, Bangladesh

In 2021, during a government tour in Bangladesh, I suddenly experienced a cough, followed by a high fever. After seeing a doctor, a tumor was found in my right lung. A biopsy revealed no harm, but the tumor grew, leading to a lobectomy. The biopsy showed invasive adenocarcinoma, and I underwent four rounds of chemotherapy before traveling to Tata Hospital in India for further treatment. As a foreigner, I felt overwhelmed by the complex procedures, but thanks to a social worker from The Lung Connect Foundation, everything was managed smoothly. They helped guide me through the treatment process, ensuring I received the care I needed. I am deeply grateful for their support. To all cancer patients and caregivers, I learned that “CANCER HAS SO MANY ANSWERS”—the right help can make all the difference in overcoming the journey.
