How did it start?

That one preemployment medical check up that made my world crushing down. I had no idea there was anything wrong with me until I bled profusely. Everything went blank, I left work to focus on my treatment and recovery

What was the biggest challenge(s) in your experience with cancer?

Emotional and mental load .

What helped you most?

My husband was my rock, my daughter made me look forward to a better tomorrow.
We got thru everything because they supported me. One thing that helped me clear my mind was acceptance.

What was your experience of the healthcare system?

I was blessed to have a supportive medical team. But it also came at a very expensive cost.

What is your message of hope or words of advice?

It is always easier said than done but keep positive thoughts. Find something you really love and make a goal towards it. Little steps. Something to get you through tough days.

I just really hope healthcare will be more affordable and treatments will be widely available. Everyone deserves to get better.
