Thank you for sharing your story
Your story gave me hope
You are not alone
Person with a lived experience of cancer

Bee, Türkiye

'Cancer Turned My World Upside Down' when I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. This photo was taken after completion of my stem cell transplant in 2012.

Today, on World Cancer Day 2026, the theme is #UnitedByUnique and #cancerturnedmyworldupsidedown challenge feels deeply personal.

Cancer may give us a shared language, but every journey is different. Every body responds differently. Every person carries their own strength, fears, hope, and resilience.

I’ve lived with cancer treatments for most of my adult life and I’m still here. Along the way, I’ve met the most positive, courageous, and inspiring people. I’ve also lost family members and dear friends to this disease.

What unites us is not the diagnosis.
It’s the strength.
The determination.
The love of family and friends.

The human body is extraordinary. It endures, adapts, heals, and somehow finds space to smile again. After that, whatever life throws at you feels lighter.

To all cancer warriors: be proud. You are unique, resilient, and strong.
Surround yourself only with those who truly love you and feed you positivity.
Nurture the ones who held your hand during the hardest days and those who continue to walk beside you long after.

We are, and always will be, #UnitedByUnique 💛
