Blessing, Zimbabwe
My name is Blessing. I was diagnosed with cervical cancer in August 2024 and began treatment in May 2025. The usual check up (VIAC) this time changed with results coming out positive. I was told that "its just lesions, don't worry", but what followed changed my life forever.
Cancer, no 😭was my first reaction after being diagnosed. A lot of tests were done to ascertain it was Cancer.
After Biopsy my life changed completely, I started bleeding and discharging water. The smell was unbearable, I could not seat where others were seated as they would ask asi pane paraswa imbwa yakawora. I lost my confidence, I started wearing only black clothes I was afraid to stain my clothes. I could not go to hustle as I thought a death sentence has been issued to me, why should I worry about looking for money. My business nearly crumbled to the ground.
Then came Chemotherapy and I lost my hair together with myself. I was no longer living but was just waiting for my death day. Thanks to counselling as well as the treatment itself i can look forward to tomorrow.
