Working in cancer (medical professionals, NGO staff, social workers...)

Frederic Ivan, Philippines

Got this special gift from my patient who was diagnosed with stage IV cancer a few months back. With God’s grace and the help of treatment, she’s been back on her feet ever since.

“Doc, I made this painting while I was having my immunotherapy and chemotherapy. If you look closely, the strokes are varied -some leaves are perfect, while some are crooked. It shows how my arm strength was when I painted it -a little bit weaker during post chemo, but constantly improves as the days go by. I hope this inspires your other patients that even with stage IV cancer, we can still be productive and experience the beauty of life.”

Indeed, a patient’s journey with cancer has its ups and downs. Some days are good, some days are bad. But always remember that cancer is NOT a death sentence. There is always hope!
