World Cancer Day reminds us that behind every diagnosis is a unique human story.
My maternal grandmother: vulvar cancer.
My maternal grandfather: lung cancer.
My paternal grandmother: colon cancer.
My aunt: small cell lung cancer (Lambert–Eaton myasthenic syndrome).
My uncle: pancreatic cancer.
(Me: precancerous condition.)
They are no longer with us. They fought hard. They suffered terribly. And I miss them very much. I am alive, but I was unable to show my children to any of my beloved grandparents.
I believe that it is our duty to keep fighting. For them and for ourselves. Let us broaden our knowledge so that we can give new hope to life. As a medical physicist, this is my mission.
Every patient journey is United by Unique.
