GYNNA, Colombia

A Journey of Voice, Resilience, and New Beginnings

My name is Gynna Paola Quintero Pineda, a 35-year-old Logistics Management professional from Colombia. In May 2021, my life was transformed by a Stage 3 Triple Positive HER2 breast cancer diagnosis. Due to an initial misdiagnosis of mastitis and delays caused by COVID-19, the cancer progressed, and I soon found myself facing **Stage 4 Metastatic Cancer**.

Since then, my life has been a path of continuous and indefinite treatment. As of January 2026, I have reached **Cycle #73** of my therapy. My current protocol includes **Pertuzumab, Trastuzumab, Denosumab, and Tamoxifen**. Over these years, I have faced rigorous chemotherapy—including 6 cycles of Docetaxel and 1 cycle of AC (the 'Red Devil')—as well as multiple sessions of **radiotherapy and radiosurgery**. My body remains in active, long-term treatment to manage the disease.

In June 2025, I faced a significant challenge when a PET Scan confirmed disease progression in my pelvis and sternum. It was a powerful reminder that this path is not linear and requires constant physical and emotional adaptation. However, in December 2025, I received hopeful news: **radiosurgery** achieved a partial response, successfully halting the progression.

This medical victory gave me the strength to make a life-changing decision: to open my heart to love again. After a long time alone, I allowed myself to feel once more, starting this year with a new beginning that reminds me there is always room for joy, even in Stage 4.

While machines were treating my body, I chose to use my voice. I have shared my story on national TV (**Caracol, City TV, Teleamiga**), in newspapers like *La Patria*, and *Aló Magazine*. I have walked runways as a 'Powerful Woman,' starred in a fashion film, and even stepped onto the soccer field with **Millonarios FC**. This journey has not been solitary; my family—especially my mother, who also faced breast cancer—my father, and my siblings have been my rock. I have also found immense strength in God and my support groups.

I join **#WorldCancerDay** to show that life does not stop with a diagnosis. My treatment is indefinite, but my will to live is infinite.

**Live, live, and live!** ✨
