What brought you to work in cancer care or support?

In India, oral cancer is one of the most common cancer aff ring males mainly due to rampant use of Tobacco. According to GATS 2016, 1/3 of all the Indians consume tobacco leading to many non- communicable disease mainly cancer. Fortunately these are preventable cancers thus my action can save someone’s life “ this feeling itself motivates me to create awareness amongst high risk individuals ( tobacco users ) rickshaw drivers.

What challenges do you face in providing people-centred care?

Getting access to the individuals and people don’t want to discuss about it and low socioeconomic status are barriers in providing cancer care .

What helps you deliver effective people-centred care?

Discipline and working with like minded individuals helps me deliver the care.

What lessons, insights, or messages would you share about people-centred care?

Lessons - we should concentrate on high risk individuals rather than community screening in preventive efforts.
