JOHNSON, India
Sharing my experiences as a Cancer Warrior. During late 2021 I was diagnosed with Stage 3 Colorectal Cancer during an investigation at Trivandrum, Kerala State in Southern India. Went to CMC Hospital Vellore in Tamil Nadu and had a major surgery. After around 45 days stay at Vellore was referred to Believers Church Medical College Hospital, Thiruvalla for Eight Cycles of Adjuvant Chemotherapy. After 10 months I developed Incisional hernia at the Surgery site and had to undergo another major surgery with a big mesh being placed inside my abdomen. In the meantime I had to struggle with Chemotherapy induced Perpheral Neuropathy, which has restricted my free movements besides undergoing the discomforts of CIPN. But, by the Grace of God, the Compassionate Medical and Nursing Care received from the BCMCH, I am moving forward very strongly inspiring thousands of Cancer Victims and their Families. I also head the National Resource Centre for Non-Communicable Diseases (NRC-NCD) and is playing am active role towards the prevention and control of Cancer.
