Person with a lived experience of cancer

Kemisola, Nigeria

Mustytoss

My name is Kemisola Mustapha. 2010, I discovered my first lump and I did lumpectomy on it. The lump was taken to the lab for histology and it was not cancerous. Fast forward to 2024, I saw two lumps under my armpit and I quickly rushed to the hospital. On getting to the hospital, the surgeon examined me and he told me to go for scan and scan detected it was 4 lumps. Two under my armpit and 2 in my breast. I was booked for lumpectomy and the lumps were removed. Taken to the lab and the results came back negative. Moving forward, the breast where the lumps was removed refused to heal up. It started getting big and painful. I went back to the hospital and I was placed on antibiotics. Five days after using the antibiotics, the breast became so big and painful. I was told to go for different test which all came out benign and the surgeon suggested I go for mastectomy because he’s suspecting cancer. I gave in to the advice and thank God I did, if not we wouldn’t have known it cancer. During the process of the surgery, he saw lymph nodes and they were taken out. The breast tissue and the lymph nodes was taken to lab for histology and behold the breast tissue was not cancerous but the lymph node was. That was how I started the journey. I took six circles of chemotherapy and was also placed on tamoxifen tab. After the six circles of chemo, I went for review test to know how far I have gone with treatment and boom, I was told it has spread to the second breast. I was given one circle of targeted chemo and I was told to go for CT scan and some other test and boooom I got the shocker that it has spread to the liver. I cried like there is no tomorrow. I started putting things in other thinking death has come. Thank God for @⁨Coach Olusola⁩ luckily for me, she was doing her daily routine of checking up on warriors and her call came in…, I was just crying on phone with her and she was able to calm me down and she told me to go for second opinion.
I met another oncologist for second opinion cos the first one was talking about palliative treatment and the new oncologist said I will be on targeted therapy and Herceptin. (18circles)
Fast forward to after 6circles of chemotherapy, I went for review test and to the glory of God Almighty the greatest physician, no cancer cells was found in my body. And my liver has been cleared. Except for lymph nodes in my right armpit.I did my second mastectomy last month, taking out the lymph nodes and the histology results came out as breast tissue clear, lymph node not cancerous 💃
Who did it? God 💪
I say who did it? Baba daadaaa 💃
Have you been told that the cancer stage is last stage, have you been told nothing can be done in your case again?
Have you been told they can only give you palliative? Tell them your God is here to turn their end stage to end of cancer in your life.
God is here to turn their palliative to Permanent healing 🙏
Don’t lose hope….
