As the daughter of a survivor of advanced stage cervical cancer, it is of utmost importance to inform, educate, prevent and encourage people that HPV exists and that it is related to different types of cancers in men and women, especially the one that is claiming more lives is cervical cancer. My commitment is that families do not suffer what mine suffered, that women know what they should do and that there are ways to prevent this cancer and eliminate it. That men understand that it is not only a woman's problem, that they also have a huge responsibility, starting with taking the vaccine. And that countries must modify their public policies in order to meet the global call made by the WHO to eliminate this cancer.
