Working in cancer (medical professionals, NGO staff, social workers...)

Narsimha Raju, India

Narasimha Raju of Dichpally began his professional journey over two decades ago as an advocate, actively working on Non-Communicable Diseases and community awareness on Diabetes, Cancer and Cardiac.  Over the years, his path evolved from advocacy to humanitarian service, leading him to become the Head of Operations at Pavani Hospice and Palliative Care. And he is associated with Blue Circle Voices Founding Member = IDF and Second Vice District Governor LIons Clubs International.

Today, he stands at the intersection of awareness and compassion conducting large scale programs during major occasions, addressing gatherings on the urgent need to remove stigma, especially among women, and encouraging regular health screenings. Working closely with hospitals and health initiatives focused on diabetes, cancer, and cardiac care, his mission has only deepened. When ever he has been invited as guest to attend various meetings never misses to talke about NCD's and motivate community to bring awareness in their respected areas.

As a Carer and also with type 2 Diabetes working on Non Communicable disease to bring awareness. He motivates to conduct camps in communities on NCDs and now with large group of collegues in lions clubs conducting in various areas of Telangana.  Every year he assoicated with Grance Cancer foundation and works to bring awareness with huge number of people to get registered and participate in Cancer Run. Spending time with children and distributed toys, fruits etc., at Cancer hospitals on various occasions motivating colleagues to conduct various programs on Cancer.

At Pavani Hospice, he encounters raw, emotional realities patients diagnosed at advanced stages, from young lives to the elderly, often with only days or weeks left. Recently came across with one young patient with 3rd stage of urinary  bladder having lot of hia aspiration in life about to become great engineer studying Btech 3rd year,  arrived to our hospice with lot of pain, and we have spent time and talked to him, diverted his psychological instances, and with cultural activitie, time to spent with divinity etc., he dont have idea that he is in last stage, from his family on his father knews it, rest all are in hope that he come to regular life, only thing we are able to give him to releive pain, out of stress, getting relaxed, from our care team.

And one more patient he got recently married and have a 8 months baby, he came to us in 4thstage and he was just saying I don't have any addiction of bad habits why god has given me this situation, how my family will survive, we are able to help them its life it can be the situations worsen the life of people,

I use to talk emotional stories, why we need to check time to  time particularly in women removing stigma and go for regular tests after 30 age.

Though emotionally overwhelming, his strength lies in offering what matters most at the end: pain relief, comfort, serenity, dignity, and a peaceful, painless final journey of life.
