From Diagnosis to Dignity: The Story Behind Cancer24x7
by: Puneet Sharma | Cancer Survivor | Founder, Cancer24x7
When Cancer Redefined My Life
I never imagined that the word cancer would one day redefine my life.
I was living a normal life—managing family, responsibilities, and dreams—when breast cancer entered my world uninvited. What followed was not just a medical journey, but a deep emotional, physical, and spiritual transformation.
The Diagnosis That Changed Everything
Being diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer shattered me. There were days filled with fear, uncertainty, pain, and silence. Treatments were harsh. Surgeries changed my body. Side effects like lymphedema became a permanent reminder of what I had endured. But the hardest part was not always physical—it was the loneliness that so many cancer patients quietly live with.
A Realisation Beyond Medicine
During my treatment and recovery, I realised something painful yet powerful:
Cancer patients don’t just need medicine. They need understanding, guidance, and someone who truly listens.
As a survivor, I know what it feels like to:
• Sit with unanswered questions at 2 a.m.
• Feel lost between doctor visits
• Be strong for family while breaking inside
• Survive cancer, yet struggle long after treatment ends
For a patient, every single word is new—and frightening.
The Overwhelming Journey of Treatment
From the very beginning, each step feels overwhelming and difficult to understand. First come the tests: ultrasound, mammogram, biopsy, PET scan, MRI—each report bringing fear, confusion, and more questions than answers. Then follow chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation—one phase after another, each demanding strength you never knew you had.
Life After Treatment: The Untold Reality
What many people don’t realise is that finishing cancer treatment does not mean the journey ends.
In many ways, the real journey begins after treatment—living with complications, long-term side effects, emotional scars, and the constant fear of recurrence. Even small symptoms or minor health issues can make you worry all over again.
That is the phase where many survivors feel the most alone.
The Birth of Cancer24x7
That realisation gave birth to Cancer24x7.
Cancer24x7 is not just a platform.
It is a safe space, created by a survivor, for patients, caregivers, and warriors.
A place where no question is too small, no fear is dismissed, and no one feels alone.
Through this initiative, my mission is simple yet deeply personal:
• To support cancer patients and caregivers, 24x7
• To connect survivors, doctors, and communities
• To spread awareness, hope, and practical guidance
• To remind every patient: you are not alone
From Pain to Purpose
Cancer changed my life—but it did not defeat me.
It gave me a new purpose.
Throughout my cancer journey, one thing remained constant—the unconditional support of my husband and my entire family. They stood by me through fear, pain, treatment, and recovery. They are the reason behind my smiles, my strength, and my belief that life is still beautiful.
I truly believe I am blessed.
God gave me a second chance to live—not without a reason, but with a purpose.
Why Cancer24x7 Exists
The journey was not easy. There were moments of physical pain, emotional breakdowns, and silent struggles that no one talks about openly. What I faced during my treatment is something I would never want anyone else to go through alone.
That feeling—of not wanting another patient or caregiver to suffer in silence—is what led to the creation of Cancer24x7.
Cancer24x7 is not just a name.
It is a feeling.
A feeling of being heard.
A feeling of being understood.
A feeling of never being alone.
A Message to My Cancer Buddies
So my cancer buddies, Cancer24x7 is here for you—to walk with you through questions, fears, healing, and hope.
If my second chance at life can make someone else’s journey a little easier, a little less frightening, then I know I am walking the path I was meant to walk.
This is not the end of my story.
This is the reason I began.
