SHAH MD, Bangladesh

I'm Shah Md. Sultan, from Dhaka, Bangladesh. I began my journey in the healthcare industry in November 2021. As a digital marketer at a renowned cancer hospital in Bangladesh, I have had the privilege of using social media and digital content to bridge the gap between cancer care and those who need it the most.

In Bangladesh, misinformation about cancer is extensive, and many people in villages believe it is untreatable or caused by unearthly forces. Through many digital campaigns, we have worked to change these misconceptions. By sharing patient-winning cancer stories, doctor health tips, and educational content in Bangla, we have reached thousands of people who otherwise would not have access to credible cancer information.

This experience strengthened my faith in the efficacy of digital marketing. A single post, a single video, or a single story can have a significant impact. Over the past years, I have seen many such moments—patients who found hope through our online content, families who decided to seek treatment because of a doctor’s advice shared in a video, and communities who became more aware of cancer prevention. As we know, prevention is better than cure.

The theme for World Cancer Day 2025 is "United by Unique," which resonates deeply with my work. While each story we share is unique, they collectively form a united front against cancer. By leveraging digital platforms, we can ensure that no one—no matter where they live—feels alone in their cancer journey.

I am proud to contribute in my own way, using technology to fight misinformation and bring life-saving knowledge to those who need it most. And as long as there are stories to tell, I will keep sharing them—because awareness can save lives.
