A Song Out of Cancer: A Mission to Help Others

In 2023 I was diagnosed with terminal melanoma.  After two months of immunotherapy infusions and feeling down, I wrote a song about my experience.

The song wouldn’t leave me alone. I had to share it with the cancer community.   So, I gathered my musician friends and recorded it.

My niece lives in Nairobi, Kenya, so I contacted several cancer organizations there and offered pro-bono, cancer-themed performances from our group.

We were honored to receive an invitation from Faraja Cancer Support Trust,  one of Kenya’s leading cancer support organizations.

They’ve invited our crew to perform for World Childhood Cancer Day on February 15, 2027.

I still live in the world of cancer, but I’ve won the first round. Now, in my Overtime Life, I’m committed to bringing hope and compassion to others facing the sorrow of cancer. Giving back has become an important part of my therapy.

Help me make Kenyan children with cancer smile and dance—even if it’s just for one hour.
