Cancer turned my world upside down the moment I heard the words you never want to hear: you have breast cancer.
I was diagnosed in November with invasive ductal carcinoma — grade 2, oestrogen & progesterone positive, HER2 negative. I had no idea there were so many different types of breast cancer.
Two months later, I’ve had a lumpectomy to remove a 25mm tumour with clear margins — a huge relief. I’m now waiting for my Oncotype test results to determine what comes next: radiotherapy alone, or chemotherapy followed by radiotherapy, plus hormone blockers for five years.
After countless hospital appointments, the little worries don’t matter anymore. If chemo reduces the risk of recurrence and lets me keep living, planning, and booking trips — then bring it on 💪
