I am a breast cancer survivor and an advocate in my country Mexico since 2002 to ensure quality and timely care for breast cancer patients. The passion and determination to achieve the necessary changes in our health care system for the benefit of patients has not diminished in my 22 years of work, although unfortunately sometimes the confidence to achieve it has. Luckily it's not a feeling that lasts long. 

I acknowledge the value of just one life and this is the spirit I need to continue. 
What ultimately increases is the frustration of seeing that many of the deaths caused by this disease could have been avoided if there had been specific strategies for action on prevention, timely diagnosis and treatment of cancer.  I will not just sit idly to see these statistics grow, i will make sure i am part of changing them. 

I have already defined my life mission and I am going to make sure I leave an important mark in Mexico when it comes to breast cancer. And you, what is it that you want to leave behind in this world when the time comes?
