Hi,

I migrated to Canada from India in 2018 with my husband to begin a new chapter of life and start a family. But life had different plans.

I was diagnosed with stage IV Subcutaneous Panniculitis T-cell Lymphoma (an aggressive type of blood cancer with only 150 cases reported worldwide) complicated with HLH in August 2019 at the age of 32.

The diagnosis took almost 3 months involving endless blood tests, scans, and biopsies. I received a stem cell transplant in April 2020 during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Much of my cancer experience was marked by delays – delays in receiving a diagnosis, delays in getting tests and scans, delays in being taken seriously, delays during Covid Pandemic.

That’s why sharing my cancer story, volunteering and spreading awareness is very important to me.

There is more to the cancer journey than meets the eye; the financial burden, timely diagnosis and adequate support need to be talked about.

I would love to connect with you in regards to sharing my cancer journey as I feel there is cultural  Roadblock in Asian communities  where people don’t want to talk about Cancer and diagnosis.

Let me know if you think; this would be helpful story and step towards spreading awareness and educate people about cancer.

My Cancer blog,  Articles, interviews and Volunteer work I did to support and spread awarness -

Looking forward to connect.

Thanks
