World Cancer Day Celebration 2026 - School-Based Cancer Awareness Intervention for Girls in Kebbi State

The Civil Society Coalition on Cancer (CiSCANEN), Kebbi State Chapter, successfully implemented a school-based cancer awareness intervention to commemorate World Cancer Day 2026. The project was conducted at Government Girls’ Unity Secondary Schools and Army Day Secondary School, Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State, with the aim of improving awareness, prevention knowledge, and early detection practices related to cancer among adolescent girls.

The intervention aligned with national and global cancer control priorities by promoting early education, preventive health behaviors, and community engagement. Through strong collaboration with relevant government agencies and development partners, CiSCANEN achieved meaningful impact and strengthened cancer awareness among students and school communities.
